Right before we got married we bought a house in Orange, California. Last spring Bobby got an amazing new opportunity with his company, Salesforce, in Austin, Texas. He was to be the new Customer Success Director for Dell, one of their largest clients. We sold our house and bought a condo on Lake Travis, in Lago Vista. Bobby was going to come back every two weeks to spend 10 days with his kids and I was going to stay up in Pasadena to see my daughter through her senior year and go visit Austin as often as possible. We road tripped it to Lago Vista on our 2 year anniversary July 29th. We spent the night in a beautiful hotel in Barstow, CA. That is not an oxymoron, the hotel was pretty decent. :) Once we got moved in Bobby decided to go for his usual 4-5 mile run.
Let me note at this point he had kept up with his running consistently, doing 1/2 marathons, Ragnar relays, going to the gym etc..... I had "retired" my fitness regimen to become a couch sloth. :(
Anyway, I digress, he came back from his run very discouraged as he could only run a little over a mile without getting winded and having to walk. We chalked it up to the change in temperature and the humidity difference. Fast forward back to California a few weeks later and he tries to run again, same thing. He also started running a slight fever. We chalked this up to a scorpion bite and he got put on antibiotics for a week or so. No change. He went to his doctor in Orange, who proceeded to do blood work. All normal. Back to Texas beginning of September, fever still persistent. Now he is having night sweats and more fatigue. Went to doctor in Texas regarding symptoms, blood work again comes back normal. Knowing this is NOT NORMAL, Bobby tells doctor things are not right and he needs to figure it out!!!!! His doctor then proceeds to go straight to a CT scan. Bobby did not even make it back home 20 minutes away before the doctor called him in to his office and said you have CANCER and it has spread. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
